DW-AKADEMIE has a network of partners around the world. As a global player, it emphasizes cross-border projects in media development cooperation and, with its international partners, jointly works to promote the media.

DW-AKADEMIE works on location in the regions of Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and Central Asia and the Middle East.

Proud Tradition
Deutsche Welle has been providing advanced vocational training for journalists, technicians and managers from developing and transition countries for more than forty years. More than 20,000 media employees from around the world have already taken part in DW-AKADEMIE courses.

Traineeships
Deutsche Welle's renowned traineeships guarantee young journalists professional and internationally oriented editorial training.

Promoting Professionalism
Amongst others free and fair media ensure a functioning democracy and rule of law in a country. This places a great responsibility on journalists. In many countries of the world, there are no free media and journalists are manipulated, persecuted and threatened.
